Gender Equality and GBV Programming in Humanitarian Action Workshop Series

The IASC Sub-working Group on Gender in Humanitarian Action organised the first of three regional inter-agency workshops in 2007 in Nairobi, Kenya.  The following were organised in 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand, and Johannesburg, South Africa.

The workshops objective was to create a greater understanding of gender equality and GBV, as well as familiarise participants with available tools for gender equality programming.

An “all-you-need” toolkit has been developed so that you can carry out a similar training yourself. The toolkit can be downloaded here.

The training series will be complemented with an inter-active CD ROM- and internet based e-learning, based on the IASC Gender Handbook.
