Application Information

The Right to Water and Sanitation is increasingly being considered as a fundamental right, however, its scope and limitations may not be well known and understood, especially in emergency situations, limiting its use as a powerful tool for advocacy.

Consequently, ACF, on behalf of the Global WASH Cluster, is organising a series of regional workshops to be held in early 2009 in Amman, Nairobi, Bobo-Dioulasso, Bangkok and Geneva. The 2-day workshops will cover: the legal basis of the Right to Water and Sanitation in emergencies, and; the planning, design, implementation and management of rights-based advocacy activities - both of which will be considered within the regional context.

The workshops are not restricted to WASH persons, and a diversity of profiles will be sought for each session. The workshops are open to any persons involved in the following areas of activity: advocacy; human rights; emergency relief issues; water, sanitation and hygiene related issues.

Additional information and application procedures can be found in the attached PDFs on the left (in English, French and Spanish) and Word.
